LINDSEY MOPPERT

Hello everyone!

​

My name is Lindsey Moppert and I am a multi-skilled sports journalist.

 

I most recently spent two and a half years as a sports anchor and reporter at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York.

​

During my time in the city of good neighbors, I was blessed with the opportunity to closely cover three professional league teams along with several local colleges and high schools.

​

As a member of the WGRZ sports team, I mainly reported on the Bills and Sabres on a daily basis. I was also able to cover two NLL Championship runs and celebrations as the Bandits claimed back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.

​

In addition, I am a proud graduate from Temple University’s Lew Klein College of Media and Communication with a degree in broadcast journalism.

 

During my time at Temple, I covered all of Temple's athletic teams as an anchor and reporter for OwlSports Update, a student-run weekly live sports show. In my senior year, I was given the opportunity to solo-anchor a show called "OwlAccess Pass." I also joined an additional TUTV student-run weekly live news show, Temple Update, during my time as an Owl. 

 

I was also a two-year captain of Temple’s Cheerleading team, the American Athletic Conference Campus Connect reporter for Temple, a member of Temple’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Vice President of Temple’s Sports Media Society for Women. 

 

Outside of Temple, I had the opportunity to intern with 97.3 ESPN, The Sports Fan Base Network (SFBN), and PHL17 Morning News. While in school, I also worked as a sideline reporter for SFBN, Lafayette College, Temple University, and Drexel University where I was on NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcasts several times.

 

I have received a number of awards through my years at Temple that include the 2022 Jim Gardner Journalism Prize and the 2022 Temple University Diamond Award, which is the highest recognition by Student Affairs given to a Temple University undergraduate student. I was also named a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards 2021 Finalist, IBS Media Awards Finalist, and was awarded in the CBI's National Student Production Awards, College Media Association Audio & Film Festival, and Temple University's Media Studies and Production Awards. 

 

I am a Philadelphia native and grew up right outside of the city! When I am not working, I love to stay active, cook, and spend time with family and friends. I also love the beach and my dogs, Boomer and Tootsie!
